New Hudson, Michigan and Georgetown, Texas – February 11, 2010 – Icom North America, LLC, and CleanFUEL USA, Inc today celebrate five years as partners in the propane vehicle industry. CleanFUEL USA utilizes Icom’s Patented JTG technology and system including its proprietary tank designs in its liquid propane injection (LPI) system designed for the propane option of the GM 8.1L and 6.0L engines, as well as the Blue Bird Vision School Bus.
Ralph Perpetuini, CEO of Icom North America: “The unique partnership between Icom and CleanFUEL USA has helped to evolve and propel the U.S. propane vehicle industry with exciting OEM level projects, including the Blue Bird Propane Vision School Bus that continues to beat sales expectations. The Icom JTG technology, utilized by CleanFUEL USA in its LPI systems, gives the advantage of equal drive-ability and performance to a conventional fueled engine with much cleaner emissions. CleanFUEL USA offers a turnkey approach to fleets with its propane engine technology and infrastructure (e.g. fuel dispensers) and fleet management solutions.”
Tucker Perkins, President and COO of CleanFUEL USA: “We’ve seen a growing interest in propane vehicles emerge, especially in fleet segments. This uptick in domestic demand can be attributed to the advancement of propane engine technology at a time when there is a renewed U.S. focus on cleaner, more sustainable transportation options. Through our strategic partnership with Icom, we are able to take advantage of the broadening opportunities for propane. Icom’s JTG technology is an essential element for CleanFUEL USA to deliver fuelefficient and clean-burning propane vehicles to the market. We are excited to recognize our long-standing relationship with Icom and look forward to further expanding efforts with new opportunities.”
